"Ornament" and the Sources of Design in the Decorative Arts

I found this article quite interesting. High schools have used a consistency or ornament and form. I learned that design and craftsmanship are different. design is based on craftsmanship. Pattern for lace from pagani, opera nova composta, venice 1546 is a beautiful well designed craft.

I love the design, it has a nice twist design. I also noticed in this article that music has to do with patterns. Many musicians had decorative art surrounding them. The decorative art had craftsmanship put into it, It had many patterns. These prints or crafty pieces are called ornaments, which I thought was pretty cool.
